Nanotechnology: Delivering Innovation

METRC, supported by the NanoKTN and the Materials KTN, present a free one day conference showcasing successful research and innovation partnerships between companies and universities. "METRC Innovation Awards" – funding designed to support new research and innovation projects between companies and universities – will also be launched at the event.

By car

There is no parking at the Mercure but there are two large car parks close by that have discounted parking: Link to location of NCP car park in Google Maps.

NCP on Arundel Gate - you receive a small yellow coin when you enter the car park, at the end of the conference hand this to the reception at the Mercure who have a special machine that will discount the coin.

Q Park on Charles Street - 10% discount vouchers are available, just place these in the machine in the car park before your own ticket and the discount will come off.

By train

The venue is a short walk from Sheffield train station. The walking route described below is shown in red on the map above.

1. Exit the railway station with the steel waterfall on your right, up the steps and to a pedestrian crossing with the Howard pub opposite.
2. Cross Sheaf Street at the pedestrian crossing.
3. Proceed up Howard Street through the Sheffield Hallam University campus.
4. At Arundel Gate, cross the road and head right past the Novotel Hotel and Millennium Galleries.
5. Take the steps to the right of the Millenium Galleries up on to Surrey Street.
6. Link to location of the hotel in Google Maps.Continue along Surrey Street past the Central Library and Graves Gallery on your right, the Winter Gardens and the Ego restaurant on your left; turn left down Norfolk street and the Mercure Hotel entrance is on your left.
